OVERVIEW

The T-Shape Literacy project was piloted in 2020 then in 2022 was funded as a TLRI project. Working with a dedicated group of Manaiakalani teachers from across Aotearoa Dr Aaron Wilson and the research team co-designed, implemented and re-designed T-Shaped Literacy English units. Within these units, students conducted and synthesised complex literary analyses of multiple, multimodal texts and applied what they learn about language to their own writing.

On this site are resources to help understand the T-Shape Literacy model and project(s). The buttons seen below will take you to animations created in 2020, archived workshop slides, some text set information and further project resources. There are fundamental elements to T-Shape Literacy regardless of the literary focus.
